Ava: Gryphons

Gryphons are hairy beaked predators. In spite of their avian appearance Gryphons are more closely related to crocodiles and the serpentine sand wyrms. Like sand wyrms, gryphons have a long flexible torso, neck and tail. Gryphons have a powerful raptorial beak and four massive talons on each hand and foot. Male Gryphons can be identified by their thick shaggy manes.

Gryphon languages have a spoken and silent aspect. The silent aspect is used when hunting. The spoken aspect is typically composed of low pitched, bird-of-prey like sounds.
